Council Minutes of 05-17-2022 <br />Ordinance 2022-42 introduced by Mayor Jones, Council President Brossard and Council <br />Members Williamson, Limpert. Glassburn, Hemann, Kelly and Scarl was given its second <br />reading. An Ordinance opting out of House Bill 172 (H.B. 172) and banning the discharge, <br />ignition or explosion of fireworks in the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency <br />Ordinance 2022-43 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. An Ordinance <br />authorizing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, to accept an Energized <br />Community Grant from the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council ("NOPEC") in the amount of <br />$82,505.00 for 2022, and further authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Grant Agreement with <br />NOPEC, and declaring an emergency <br />Resolution 2022-45 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. A Resolution <br />authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to install diesel exhaust <br />system improvements at Fire Stations 1 & 2 for the City of North Olmsted, as detailed in the <br />specifications on file with the Service Department, and further authorizing the Mayor, following <br />approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and best bidder, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance 2022-46 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. An Ordinance <br />establishing a new 'OneOhio Opioid Settlement Fund" as a special revenue fund to account for <br />the receipt and expenditure of revenues received from the State of Ohio's OneOhio Opioid <br />Settlement, and declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Williamson moved to suspend the <br />rules requiring three readings. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kelly and passed 7-0. <br />Roll Call: <br />Yes: Williamson, Kelly, Hemann, Glassburn, Gilchrist, Scarl, Limpert <br />No: None <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilwoman Williamson moved for adoption. Ordinance 2022-46 adopted 7-0. <br />Ordinance 2022-48 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its first reading. An Ordinance <br />amending the rates of compensation for administrative personnel by changing the Coordinator <br />of the Division of Juvenile Diversion from a full-time position to a part-time position and retitling <br />the Maintenance position in the Division of Wastewater with corresponding wages, for the years <br />2022 and 2023; and otherwise restating the compensation rates and descriptions for various <br />administrative and legislative personnel for the years 2022 and 2023, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Ordinance 2022-49 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its first reading. An Ordinance <br />providing for the funding of the optional redemption of certain of the City's outstanding fire <br />station improvement refunding bonds, Series 2015, dated as of December 15. 2015, and <br />authorizing and directing the call for optional redemption of those bonds, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />
