Council Minutes of 02-15-2022 <br />• The year-end financial statements and the summary cash basis and detail, were sent to <br />Council today to be discussed during the budget processas well as comparisons for the <br />year and the assumptions for this year. <br />Council President Brossard asked for a moment of privilege to thank, on behalf of his wife Joni. <br />son Nick and daughter Devyn. the members of Council and the Administration who went out of <br />their way to reach out to him regarding the sudden passing of his of cherished daughter Brenna. <br />A special thank you to Mayor Dailey Jones. Director Copfer, Councilmembers Williamson, <br />Glassburn, Kelly, Scarl and Gilchrist for waiting in long lines at Brenna's visitation service while <br />simultaneously dealing with the challenges of Winter Storm Landon.. and apologized if he <br />missed thanking anyone. Council President stated that the outpouring of the Community has <br />been nothing short of amazing and it reminds he and his wife why they love North Olmsted. <br />Asked the audience to please join him in a moment of silence for Brenna. <br />Councilman Glassburn, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, February 8, at 7:02 p.m. Present were Committee <br />Members Glassburn, Williamson and Limpert and Council Members Hemann, Kelly, Gilchrist <br />and Scarl, Mayor Jones, Human Resources Director Kidd, Director of Economic and Community <br />Development Upton and guests. <br />• Discussed Resolution 2022-13, a Resolution authorizing the Director of Economic and <br />Community Development to request Statements of Qualifications ('S.O.Q.s') from <br />qualified firms to provide professional consulting services for the development of a <br />Strategic Economic Development Plan, as Amended. Director Upton presented the <br />request to update our Economic Development Plan from 2015, to offer new tools <br />regarding benchmarking, business retention and expansion. Councilman Glassburn <br />noted that it is yet to be determined how it will be paid for in the budget. <br />• The Committee voted to remove the immediate Board of Control Authorization, and that <br />Amendment was approved 3-0 and the Committee Meeting concluded at 7'.39 p.m. <br />Councilman Glassburn moved to Amend Resolution 2022-13. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. <br />Roll Call <br />Yes. Resolution 2022-13 amended 7-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />None <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Jeff Sturgeon <br />3092 W. 231 �' Street <br />Mr. Sturgeon asked if the City was going to make any recommendations regarding ODOT and <br />Clague Road project. The Mayor responded that the City will be communicating with ODOT <br />every step of the way, but also noted that ODOT is asking for what the public thinks. Mr. <br />Sturgeon said he would like to make sure the no right -turn from Brookpark Road stays so that <br />people who live on Clague Road, have a break in traffic to get out of their driveways.
