(216) 524-7260 VICCage of 'VaCtey View 6895 HATHAWAY ROAD VALLEY V'EW, OHIO 44225-4799 FIRE DEPARTMENT To Whom it May Concern, KENNETH PAPESH FIRE CHIEF June 20, 2022 The Village of Valley View transitioned its dispatch operations to Chagrin Valley Dispatch (CVD), Brecksville location, in 2019. This transition included three other communities within our regional dispatch center, housed in the Village of Cuyahoga Heights. This transition did not come without significant discussion over a vast array of both practical and unrealistic concerns. Through these discussions with multiple community administrators, elected officials, police and fire administrators and dispatch supervisors the decision was made to move to CVD Brecksville. This decision has been overwhelmingly positive for the departments and residents within the community. There were several key factors that played into the decision to move into a larger regional dispatch center: I. Enhancement of Dispatch Services. Technology Upgrades / Training / Specialized Services 2. Standardization of Protocols / National Best Practice Models 3. Cost Savings: Technology Purchasing Power / Staffing / Equipment / Specialized Equipment 4. Enhanced Mutual Aid Capability: Auto -Aid Dispatch Across a large area Our community has enjoyed these expected benefits, and several more. CVD has been an exceptional partner over the past three years with our community, and all the communities it serves. Dispatchers frequently perform ride-alongs in the communities they dispatch for, allowing them to better understand the needs of their Police, Fire, FMS and residents. In the event of any issues, CVD's administrative response to inquiries is immediate with follow up being documented and communicated to interested parties in a timely and thorough manner. Without reservation, I give my strongest recommendation to your community joining the Chagrin Valley Dispatch family of communities. This group will be a significant asset to your safety forces, and will greatly enhance the level orservice provided to your community.
