June 20, 2022 I o Whom It Mav Concern: TIIF C'ITN OF SOLON ,01,0A 1 lar RB>( I i It is my understanding that the U'est Shure Safet% Agencies are considering switching to Chagrin Vallee Dispatch (CVIJ) Cor dispatching- have been a "user_ of CVD since it started, first as an 1ssistant Chief at Chagrin Palls Fire Department and more recently as Fire Chief at Solon File - Rescue. Although t had been in charge of the Solon Fire Dispatch Center for more than 20 years before the transition to CVD, I feel the collaboration with CVIJ was not only the right mote, but added a lot of value to our operations. Joining C VD allowed us to take a giant step Gxward with technology, and we found value in sharing those eo.sts with other communities rather than each agency Irving to purchase them separately. It also improved interoperability for us, allowing us to know the statue of our mutual aid partners and to seamlessly dispatch multiple agencies to a single incident from one dispatch center. I`his in turn helped reduce response limes of police, lire and FMS to the same incident. The professionalism of the dispatch personnel is second to none. their training program is excellent, dtey have dispatchers who trulv care about doing a goodjob, and they have supervisors who hold them to a standard- On the rare occasion when there is a need to review recordings, they are promptly provided to us and their administrative staff is very responsive. I hey always follow up with me to inform me as to what corrective action was taken. As you make your decision, I can tell wu that our experience in working with Nick Dicicco and all the staff at CVD has been wondertitl_ It is always ver% collaborative and customer service oriented.
