During the registration process you will be asked the number of children that <br />will be in your vehicle, so the appropriate number of treats can be distributed. <br />• The City will observe door-to-door trick -or -treating from 6-8 p.m. on Halloween evening, <br />Monday, October 31. Participating residents are asked to turn their front porch light on <br />during those hours. <br />• The North Olmsted Arts Commission will host the annual Halloween House Decorating <br />Contest. Deadline for residents to enter is October 23. Three winners and prizes will be <br />announced by October 28. Judging will take place in the following categories: <br />Creativity/Originality, Placement, Theme/Storyline, Visual Impact and Overall <br />Presentation. Judging will be done by Arts Commission members. To enter, visit the <br />City's website. <br />• The City's Human Resources Department hosted Customer Service and Diversity and <br />Inclusion Training for all North Olmsted Employees in sessions held during the past two <br />weeks. Harassment and Discrimination Training for all those employees in a <br />supervisory role were also completed. <br />• Fire Prevention Week will be observed in the City from October 9-15. We are reminding <br />our residents to be sure and check their smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector <br />batteries and replace them if necessary. Anyone with questions can call our Fire <br />Prevention Bureau at 440.777.1214. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Director Gareau provided an updated on the City of North Olmsted vs. Ghaith <br />Mohammad Alabdallah, noting the Summary Judgement hearing was continued for two <br />weeks and also discussed the high cost related to this incident involving an uninsured <br />motorist. <br />• Director Gareau also stated in a follow-up with regard to Kelly Patrick vs. Michael <br />Gareau, Charles Fiorillo, Michael Gordillo and others, that they have filed the motion to <br />dismiss Ms. Patrick's attempt to revive her case. <br />Director of Finance Copfer <br />• None (Absent) <br />Councilwoman Williamson.. Chairwoman of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee. <br />The Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee met on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 7:00 <br />p.m. Present were Committee Members Williamson, Kelly and Glassburn and Council Members <br />Gilchrist and Scarl, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer. Human Resources Director <br />Kidd, Director of Economic and Community Development Upton, Safety Director Scofield, <br />Service Director Kearney, Recreation and Public Engagement Director Pinchek, Special <br />Assistant to the Mayor Massarolo and guests. <br />• Discussed Ordinance 2022-84. An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to purchase a 2023 <br />Chevrolet Tahoe from Ganley Chevrolet for the North Olmsted Fire Department, through <br />the State Purchase Program, at a cost of $45,057.00 and further authorizing the Mayor <br />to execute contract documents.
