Council Minutes of 12-06-2022 <br />The North Olmsted Arts Commission is sponsoring their annual Holiday Home <br />Decorating Contest this year Entries must be a residential property, and it must be <br />located within the City of North Olmsted. Entries will be accepted through Sunday. <br />December 11" Only decorations visible from the roadway will be subject to judging. <br />Homes are limited to winning once every 3 years. <br />3Z continues the final pass for leaf collection in our city this week. We anticipate work <br />concluding by December 12, 2022. <br />The Mayor offered a reminder regarding snow removal in the City of North Olmsted after <br />noting that the City is well stocked with salt and ready for the onset of winter. <br />The Service Department commences snow plowing and road salting operations <br />during the winter months as needed. This service affects the safety of all <br />residents and motorists. Remember. No parking on hydrant side of street. No <br />parking between 2 and 6 a . or when the snow depth exceeds two inches. <br />(Codified Ordinance 351.13). <br />The City road salting policy is as follows. <br />• All main routes/streets will be plowed and salted. <br />• All school zones will be plowed and salted. <br />• All interior streets will be plowed and salted ONLY at intersections. grades. <br />curvesdeep roadside ditches and mains leading out of developments. This <br />policy may change at the discretion of the Foreman. <br />• DO NOT approach operational plow trucks on the street. This is extremely <br />dangerous. <br />• As a sensible salting practice there will be limited salting during the late <br />evening/early morning hours from 11 p.m. — 4 a.m. as salting is not as <br />effective due to low traffic volumes. <br />The Kiwanis Club and Key Club of North Olmsted will host a pancake breakfast with <br />Santa on Sunday, December 11 at the Red Barn at Frostville, from 9-10:30 a.m. and <br />another from 11 a.m. to 12:30 pm. <br />The Mayor and Director Upton attended the grand opening of Zebrano, a high-end <br />luxury furniture store, that opened in <br />Director of Law Gareau. <br />• Director Gareau added to the Mayor's comments with regard to Mayor Boyle, stating that <br />it is his understanding from Mayor Boyle's daughter, that they will be scheduling services <br />in North Olmsted as well. <br />• Director Gareau gave a final report on the Clague Road dog case. The defendant pled <br />to five counts of'Dog at Large' and was fined $1,500, she pled to one count of'Failure to <br />Reasonable Control', fined $150, convicted on two counts of'Vicious Dogs', fined $500 x <br />2, plus 12 days in jail. She served four consecutive three-day weekends. The total fines <br />and fees were just over $4,000.00 plus 12 days in jail. A motion was passed to destroy <br />the dogs, but they had already been removed from the jurisdiction and are no longer in <br />her possession. The North Olmsted interests in this case have been satisfied. Director <br />Gareau stated that should this ever happen again we have updated code and have <br />processes in place to better deal with these types of circumstances. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• Director Copfer stated the September Month -End Summary and Detail Financial <br />Statements have been submitted. <br />
