Council Minutes of 09-05-2023
1115 Mulberry Lane
Brunswick, OH
Mr. Altman came to Council to thank the Administration and Council for their support in getting the
Gaelic Games set-up at Barton -Bradly Park. Thanked many within the Administration and Council
President Brossard for making their championship possible.
Demaris Wolf
5406 Berkshire Drive
Ms. Wolf stated she wanted to express her concerns with the sale of parcel 233-26-063. She said her
home abuts that property and is always concerned when rezoning a parcel. She asked who BOW
Properties is, and also asked why she had not received any information with regard to what will be done
with the property. She asked several questions with regard to what was being done, what other
properties were considered, and what other options had been considered, as she has heard it may be
low-income housing, or apartment buildings. She is concerned with flooding and water retention,
privacy fencing, safety and traffic. She asked what other options had been presented to Council for this
property, and what due diligence had been done.
Director Upton responded to Ms. Wolf by explaining that BOW Properties, LLC. is Brian Weber of Weber
Automotive. He continued on to state that it is 8/30ths of an acre, that is the Southernmost point of the
parcel. Director Upton noted that Weber Automotive has built a very successful business and are
busting at the seams due to growth, and with this addition, they will be hiring 6-7 new employees.
Director Upton stated this is the first step in this process and there will be a Public Hearing scheduled for
October 17, 2023, wherein more information will be available.
Brian Mollohan
28783 Tudor Drive
Mr. Mollohan stated that parcel 233-26-063 runs directly behind him, noting he has lived on Tudor Drive
for many years. He asked what is going to happen with the rest of the parcel that is now a wooded lot.
Director Upton responded that there will be a Committee Meeting next week to determine the best use
for that property. The plan is to have that property used for housing to bring in new income tax.
Mr. Mollohan asked if there would be a study of the wildlife in the woods, and the impact building on
that land would have.
Director Upton stated that there will be environmental reviews that go on as part of that, as well as a
wetlands delineation that has already been done, wherein it is determined if any endangered species
will be affected, and the most common one, in this part of the Country is the Indiana Bat, but he is not
sure if the Indiana Bat is in that parcel of land.
Mr. Mollohan noted the Mayor is working on all the water issues in the City, and he believes one way to
help with that, is to not cut down the forest.
Director Upton stated that any new development has to store all of its storm water management on -
sight, as part of the new code that the Mayor referenced.
Councilman Glassburn asked Director Upton if he is correct that the entire area is 12 acres and this
legislation deals with 8/10ths of an acre of that 12 acres. Director Upton responded yes. Councilman
Glassburn then added that one of the benefits to the City purchasing the school property, is that we can
