North-0Imsted.com
From: imroman3@aol.com ImailtoJrnroman3@aol.com]
Sent: Thursday, October 5, 2023 10:53 AM
To: Beatrice Taylor <tavlorbranorth-olmsted.com>
Subject: Ordinance 2023-95
Caution: This email originated firm outside the organization. Please take care when clicking links or
opening attachments. When in doubt, please contact the IT Department.
Good Morning Ms. Taylor,
My name is John Romanchik and I am a long time resident of North Olmsted living in the Forest
Ridge Development.
I won't be able to attend the Public Hearing on October 17, 2023 therefore I am forwarding my
comments via this email.
Regarding the Rezoning of Split Parcel 233-26-063 1 am not particularly concerned about Weber
Automotive expanding their business and purchasing the 1/2 acre parcel of the former Forest
Elementary School property. To my knowledge their business will not have an impact on the
residents of the development regarding traffic flow as ingress and egress will be from Lorain Road.
I am gravely concerned however on the sale and use of the remaining property of the former Forest
Ridge Elementary School. My concern is that the City of North Olmsted will use the rezoning of 233-
26-063 to set a precedent and to rezone the remaining land for business development.
To my knowledge there have been no public meetings regarding what the City of North Olmsted
intends to do with the property. I have heard rumors of selling the property to build single family
homes. If this is the case, it would be the lesser of two evils (business or resident
development). Personally I would prefer the land be used as green space or park land.
The residents of Forest Ridge have suffered enough already with the installation of the
Crocker/Sterns extension. What was once a beautiful forest has become a nuisance to the
residents. Especially myself as the road runs through my back yard. The noise levels are truly
intolerable and they exceed 90 decibels much of the time. There are many other more subtle impacts
that I hesitate to discuss at this time.
In summary, I don't have an issue with the rezoning of Split Parcel 233-26-063 but I am concerned
that this will set a precedent for the use or sale of the remaining ]and of the Forest Elementary
School. I ask that you or the City of North Olmsted keep me informed regarding the sale of the
adjacent land that was once the Forest Elementary School.
Sincerely,
John Romanchik
