Council Minutes of 01-16-2024
Motion carried. The appointment of Mr. Jamb Campbell to the Arts Commission for the term of January
1, 2022 through December 31, 2025; the reappointment of Mr. David Kovach to the Building & Zoning
Board of Appeals for the term of January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2028; and the reappointment of
Mr. Cary Peeples to the Planning & Design Commission for the term of January 1, 2024 through
December 31, 2028, were approved by a vote of 7-0.
None.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Janice Denham
5129 E. Park Drive
Ms. Denham asked if the council meeting was being recorded as she stated that the last Council Meeting
recording had no sound. Ms. Denham stated this is her fourth Council Meeting coming to speak -out
against placing a cell phone tower at the North Olmsted Community Park, as she is very concerned with
the health concerns of living so close to the tower.
The Clerk advise Ms. Denham of technical issues with the camera and because of that the meeting was
not being streamed, but advised that she can request an audio recording at any time.
Connie English
5009 E. Park Drive
Ms. English came to Council to discuss the cell tower, noting they met with the Administration on the
proposed locations for the tower at the park, and again stated her opposition to the tower. She also
stated she was surprised the City does not have back-up to the audio/visual system.
Steve Erhman
5680 Wellesley
Mr. Erhman came to Council to thank the Mayor for getting the information out with regard to how
many lots will be allowed on Forest Property. He thought it was unfair that those at Springvale get new
pickle ball courts, while those living by the park have to We with the cell tower. He asked why the cell
tower wouldn't be place at Springvale since they are "reaping" the benefits.
Councilman Limpert added that the Administration assessed and proposed the location and what to do
at the park, and what type of facilities can potentially go there; he also noted that Mr. Erhman's
statement that the funding goes to Springvale is not accurate.
Ms. Hemann also asked for the floor to speak to Mr. Erhman's comments on Springvale's improvements
being paid for by the cell tower, noting that none of the funding from the cell tower is going to
Springvale, and reiterating that the funding is going towards park Improvements.
Mr. Erhman stated that he maintains his opinion. He then went on to express his opinion on the Master
Plan and on the Save Our Storefronts project.
