Council Minutes of 02-20-2024 further authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a consulting agreement with the professional selected in the S.O.Q process, and declaring an emergency. Resolution 2024-5 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. A Resolution authorizing the Administration to solicit Statements of Qualifications (S.O.Q.) from qualified professionals to consult on the development of a Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS) Travel Plan, in partnership with the North Olmsted School District; and further authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a consulting agreement with the professional selected in the S.O.Q. process. Resolution 2024-7 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. A Resolution authorizing the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement to advertise for bids for the purchase of a Greensmower lawn mower to be used at Springvale Golf Course, as detailed in specifications on file, and authorizing the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract for same with the lowest and best bidder, and declaring an emergency. Councilwoman Hemann moved to suspend the rules requiring three readings. The motion was seconded by Councilman Scarl and passed 7-0. An Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to accept on behalf of the City of North Olmsted the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) 2024 Energized Community Grant. Resolution 2024-9 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. A Resolution approving of and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Collective Bargaining Agreement with Ohio Council 8, Local 2681, of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees ("AFSCME"), for the City Service Unit, for the period January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Glassburn moved to suspend the rules requiring three readings. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed 7-0.
