4.02 The aforementioned clothing allowance shall be paid in the month of December each yew of <br />this agreement. Employees transferred, promoted and/or newly hired shall receive the listed <br />clothing allowance within thirty (30) days following the effective date of the transfer, promotion <br />or hiring date. - <br />ARTICLE 5 LEADS COMPENSATION <br />4B3 5.01 Police Secretaries I and II shall be paid additional compensation of seven hundred fifty <br />dollars ($750.00) for obtaining and/or maintaining their LEADS certification. The aforementioned <br />LEADS compensation shall be paid during the first pay period after January I of each year covered by <br />the terms of this agreement. Payment shall be prorated in the first and final year of employment. <br />r:�,ircb�x�K�1�1u1rle�c.�1:1r����yxFy:�� <br />6.1 The parties hereto agree that the duties of the employees of the Division of Police <br />are such that said employees are exposed to disease as a result of their assigned duties. It is the <br />intention of the parties to provide to said employees, salary continuation benefits when an <br />employee contracts an illness as hereinafter specified. <br />6.2 In the event that a full-time employee of the bargaining unit should become ill due <br />to contact with AIDS, HIV, Hepatitis 1 Tuberculosis, Meningitis or MRSA and such illness has so <br />incapacitated the employee that he/she temporarily is unable to work, the Police Chief shall <br />investigate and determine whether the illness is work related and of a temporary nature. The Police <br />Chief shall then forward his/her finding to the Safety Director who shall determine the nature and <br />extent of the illness and how contracted, including circumstances thereof. If after consideration of <br />the totality of the facts the Safety Director determines that said disease was contracted during <br />employment and is of a temporary nature requiring medical leave, the Safety Director shall <br />authorize the full payment of the employee's regular salary for a period of ninety (90) days. <br />6.3 If after ninety (90) days, an illness still temporarily incapacitates the employee, the <br />Safety Director shall recommend to Council whether to continue salary. Council shall forthwith <br />review the matter and by a majority vote determine whether the employee shall continue to receive <br />full salary during recuperation. <br />19 <br />4863-1214-9430, v.2 <br />
