Council Minutes of 05-07-2024 Alejandro Chock 24677 Randall Drive Mr. Chock came to council to oppose Resolution 2024-47. It is Mr. Chock's opinion that the legislation is being introduced as a pre-curser to move our dispatch services to Chagrin Valley Dispatch. He based his opinion on the fact that Mayor Holzheimer-Gail is the President of Chagrin Valley Dispatch, and that makes him suspect there are sinister motivations at play in the appointment of Mayor Holzheimer-Gail to the Cuyahoga County 911 Program Review Committee. Mr. Chock pointed out several times that a recall was started the last time legislation was brought forward to move the dispatch center. Mayor Jones addressed Council to advise that the Presidency of Chagrin Valley Dispatch transfers every year from the representation of the 20 or so communities that belong to it, and this happens to be the year that Mayor Gail is the President. She is also the President of the Mayors and Managers Association this year as well. Mayor Jones noted the position of who represents the Mayors and Managers Association on this County 911 Review Committee, is one of 10 or 12 who operate this committee. It has people who serve all of our communities, whether they're on the east or west side, and they consider what affects our entire county, and how that operates with the State of Ohio's 911 plan. LEGISLATION Ordinance 2024-29 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its third reading. An Ordinance to make Appropriations for Capital Improvements for the City of North Olmsted for the Year Ending December 31, 2024, as Amended. Councilman Glassburn moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed 7-0. Roll Call: Yes: Glassburn, Limpert, Gilchrist, Madden, Hamann, Shymske, Scarl No: None Motion carried. Ordinance 2024-29 adopted 7-0. Ordinance 2024-31 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its third reading. An Ordinance Amending Section 1321.05 entitled "Plans Examination Fees' of Chapter 1321 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted entitled "Permit and Inspection Fees" for the purpose of updating Plans Examination Fee Schedules, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Glassburn moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed 7-0. Roll Call: Yes: Glassburn, Limpert, Madden, Shymske, Gilchrist, Scarl, Hemann No: None Motion carried. Ordinance 2024-31 adopted 7-0.
