<br />will be Fox8 news' Todd Meany's band, Ace Molnar, at North Olmsted Park. Food trucks will be
<br />available at all concerts and the fireworks event.
<br />• Memorial Day will be celebrated on Monday, May 27, 2024. The parade steps off at the North
<br />Olmsted Police Department next to City Hall, at 10:30 a.m., and will travel down Lorain Road to
<br />the North Olmsted Community Park. Mayor Jones added that North Olmsted City Hall will be
<br />closed for Memorial Day as well.
<br />• On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, there will be free produce distribution from 4:30 — 6:30 p.m. at
<br />Maple Elementary School; this is a drive-thru service.
<br />• The North Olmsted City Schools will host a cultural event on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 6:00 —
<br />9:00 p.m. at the High School Stadium, to honor and celebrate the diversity and culture in our
<br />school district and community.
<br />• The City's outdoor pool will open for open swim on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at noon, weather
<br />permitting.
<br />• The North Olmsted Senior Commencement will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the High
<br />School Stadium. The Mayor congratulated all graduating seniors, including Councilwoman
<br />Gilchrist's son Jonah.
<br />Director of Law Gareau:
<br />• Director Gareau provided an updated on the matter of Dominque Parks vs. the City of North
<br />Olmsted, North Olmsted Police Department. This was a complaint filed with the Ohio Civil
<br />Rights Commission. Director Gareau reported that they received notification that this case has
<br />been dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. Ms. Parks has ten days to file her request for
<br />reconsideration, however, Director Gareau anticipates this matter will be closed, and remain
<br />closed.
<br />Director of Finance Copfer:
<br />• Director Copfer wished Director Gareau a happy birthday.
<br />• Director Copfer reported she attended the Rocky River Municipal Court's Fiscal Officers Semi -
<br />Annual Meeting on May 9, 2024. The 2024 Court Budget was presented, and as expected there
<br />was a deficit. However, the clerk mentioned that the ticket writing has seen a slight uptick, as
<br />has the City's.
<br />• The preliminary March 2024 Summary and Detailed reports, along with the first quarter review,
<br />were emailed to Council; she invited Council to contact her with any questions.
<br />Councilman Limpert, Chairman of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee:
<br />The Building, Zoning and Development Committee met on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 7:02 p.m. Present
<br />were Committee Members Limpert, Glassburn and Gilchrist and Council Members Scarl, Madden,
<br />Hemann and Shymske, Council President Brossard, Mayor Jones, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director
<br />Copfer, Human Resources Director Kidd, Director of Economic and Community Development Upton,
<br />Safety Director Scofield, Service Director Kearney, Recreation and Public Engagement Director Pinchek,
<br />Special Assistant to the Mayor Massarolo and guests.
<br />• Discussed PDC Case 23689-PO10 Woodland Grove. Discussions were had with regard to
<br />sidewalks being added to the proposed plan, as Councilwoman Gilchrist sees merit it doing so.
<br />The Committee voted 3-0 to hold in committee until further information was received.
<br />• Also discussed PDC Case 26074 Morris Cadillac. The proposal was to renovate their facility. The
<br />representatives from Morris Cadillac came in to represent their plan for the facilities, while
