Council Minutes of 05-21-2024 <br />None. <br />Janice Denham <br />5129 E. Park Drive <br />Ms. Denham came to Council to oppose the cell phone tower at North Olmsted Park. She expressed <br />sadness over the Mayor, City Council Members and the Recreation Director ignoring the health and <br />financial well-being of residents, and hiding their approval of a 140' cell tower in a century -old park. Ms. <br />Denham criticized the lack of transparency, noting that neither the Mayor nor Director Pinchek <br />mentioned the cell tower in recent literature. Ms. Denham highlighted the health concerns with 5G <br />towers and the 20% reduction in property values near cell towers. <br />Connie English <br />5009 E. Park Drive <br />Ms. English came to Council to oppose the cell phone tower at North Olmsted Park. Ms. English voiced <br />her opinion with regard to Council's disregard for the City's own tower regulations. She highlighted the <br />specific regulations in Chapter 1151, which were enacted to protect property values, maintain the City's <br />aesthetic appearance and safeguard residential properties. Ms. English pointed out Resolution 2023-79 <br />required a final development plan approval, offering a chance for Council to consider the residents' <br />concerns. She urged Council to review the plans carefully, and hoped for transparency in future <br />meetings regarding the tower plans. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance 2024-30 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its third reading. An Ordinance to make <br />Appropriations for Capital Improvements for the City of North Olmsted Fire Station 1 for the Year Ending <br />December 31, 2024. <br />Councilman Glassburn moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and <br />passed 5-1. <br />Roll Call: <br />Yes: Glassburn, Scarl, Hemann, Gilchrist, Shymske <br />No: Limpert <br />Motion carried. Ordinance 2024-30 adopted 5-1. <br />Ordinance 2024-35 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its third reading. An Ordinance authorizing the <br />Mayor to enter into a First Amendment to the agreement between the County of Cuyahoga and the City <br />of North Olmsted for the resurfacing of Clague Road from Lorain Road to Marion Road, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Councilwoman Gilchrist moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Shymske and <br />passed 6-0. <br />
