ARTICLE XM 15 <br />CLOTHING ALLOWANCE <br />ig.01 15.07. Uniform Standards. All employees shall maintain duty uniforms as mandated by <br />the Rules and Regulations. <br />13.3 15.02. Initial Compliment. All new police officers, immediately upon completing the <br />selection process and prior to appointment, shall be provided two (2) duty uniforms, one (1) <br />uniform cap, one (t) lightweight jacket, one (1) winter jacket, and one (1) pair of boots. All <br />clothing provided and/or clothing allowance paid shall be surrendered to the Employer in the event <br />the employee fails to complete the probationary period, including all issued equipment given by <br />the Employer. <br />13.&315.03. Annual Allowance/Amount. All full-time bargaining unit members shall receive an <br />annual clothing allowance of one thousand three hundred fifty dollars ($1,350.00) payable with <br />the fast regular pay check in January for the duration of this Agreement. <br />{38175.04. Proration in InitiaUFinal Year ofEmplovment. Clothing allowance shall be pro- <br />rated per month in the employee's first year of employment and final year of employment. <br />1395 15.05. ReimbursemenNDama¢a to Uniform Items. In the event of damage to uniform <br />items, including watches and prescription eyeglasses, which occurs in the active discharge of an <br />employee's duties enforcing the law. Duties such as routine issuance of a citation or a routine <br />accident investigation shall not be considered a cause for replacement of damaged items. The <br />Employer shall pay the difference between the amount of reimbursement from the insurance or <br />court ordered recovery and the cost of repair or replacement at current fair market value. However, <br />the Employer's monetary reimbursement obligation for repair or replacement of the following <br />articles shall not exceed the maximum amounts set forth below: <br />Item <br />Maximum Employer Cost <br />Watch <br />$30.00 <br />Prescription Eyeglasses <br />$100.00 <br />Uniform Jacket <br />$200.00 <br />Line of duty damage shall be reported immediately to the Chief of Police. On approval of the <br />Chief of Police, the above -noted payment shall be forwarded to the employee, absent or after any <br />other form of reimbursement and upon receipt of replacement of said items. <br />tg-96 15.06 Body Armor. The Employer agrees to provide and pay for all employees' body <br />armor, a minimum threat level NIJRG2. The Employer agrees to replace body armor at such time <br />m the vests are no longer serviceable as provided in the manufacturer's specifications. In the event <br />the body armor is rendered unserviceable due to misuse or neglect by the employee, replacement <br />shall be the responsibility of the employee.
