Council Minutes of 06-18-24 Roll Call: Yes: Glassburn, Limpert, Hemann, Shymske, Gilchrist, Scarl, Madden No: None Motion carried. Resolution 2024-63 adopted 7-0. Ordinance 2024-64 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. An Ordinance approving and adopting the 2024 North Olmsted Parks Improvement Plan, and declaring an emergency, as Amended. Resolution 2024-65 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. A Resolution authorizing the City Engineer to advertise for bids for the award of a construction services contract to provide site improvements, including recreation, concession and parking facilities, at the North Olmsted Community Park, as detailed in the specifications on file, and authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and best bidder. Ordinance 2024-66 was introduced by Mayor Jones, placed on first reading, and suspension of the rules requested. An Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2024 and declaring an emergency. Councilman Glassburn moved to suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed 7-0. Ordinance 2024-67 was introduced by Mayor Jones and placed on first reading. An Ordinance declaring an additional forty- five (45) day moratorium, thereby extending the moratorium approved by Ordinance 2024-11, restricting the issuance of any permits, zoning or otherwise, to any business operating as a thrift store in order to allow for such a retail use to be properly defined in Section 1115 of the Zoning Code and added to the Use Table in Chapter 1139 of the Business Code and otherwise regulated in the City of North Olmsted; and declaring an emergency. Resolution 2024-68 was introduced by Mayor Jones and placed on first reading. A Resolution authorizing the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement to apply for a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in the amount of $150,000.00 for the purpose of acquiring playground equipment at the North Olmsted City Parks and, if awarded, further authorizing the Mayor to accept the award, and declaring an emergency.
