Gender Neutral. whenever the context so requires, theme of words herein, in the <br />singular, shall be construed to include the plural, and words in the plural, the singular, and words <br />whether in the masculine, feminine, or neuter gender shall be construed to include all of said <br />genders. By the use of either the masculine or feminine genders, it is understood that said use is <br />for convenience purposes only and is not to be interpreted to be discriminatory by reason of sex. <br />(Note: Moved from Article 34) <br />ARTICLE 94 4 <br />FOP REPRESENTATION/ UNIONACTIVITY <br />9.." 4.01. FOP Access. Non-employee representatives of the FOP shall be admitted to the <br />Employer's facility for the purpose ofprocessing grievances, attending meetings, or for monitoring <br />the administration of this Agreement, upon approval of the Employer or his designee. The <br />Employer or his designee shall facilitate any necessary contact between the representative and any <br />on duty employee, provided that arrangement of the contact is not unduly disruptive of the <br />employee's job responsibilities. <br />363 4.02. Bulletin Boards. The FOP shall have use of suitable bulletin boards for the posting of <br />FOP notices or other materials. The boards shall be identified with the name of the FOP, and the <br />FOP may designate persons responsible therefore. <br />383 4.03. Negotiations Scheduling. The Employer shall, during wage/contract negotiations, <br />endeavor to schedule time for members of the negotiation team to participate in the negotiations <br />without having to have worked the 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shift immediately prior to any <br />negotiation session. <br />3,844.04. Union Leave. Employees who are elected members of the FOP/OLC Labor Committee <br />shall be authorized a bank of eighty (80) hours of paid leave, per calendar year, to attend FOP/OLC <br />sponsored functions such as educational meetings, business meetings, or seminars. The bank of <br />eighty (80) hours shall be used collectively by elected committee members representing the Blue <br />Unit, Gold Unit, and Corrections Unit. All requests to use hours from this bank shall be submitted <br />in writing for approval by the Chief of Police or his Designee, which shall not be unreasonably <br />withheld. It is understood that the attendance will not be approved if it will incur overtime at the <br />time the approval is granted. Additional time may be granted at the sole discretion of the Police <br />Chief. <br />ARTICLE I¥ S <br />4=04 5.01. Membership. All employees in the bargaining unit(s) shag may become dues paying <br />members of the FOP/OLC. <br />486}5]139656, v. 5 <br />
