Scarl, the Mayor, the Law Director, Finance Director, HR Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor, and guests. • The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Resolution 2024-116, a Resolution authorizing the Director of Economic and Community Development to solicit Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified firms to provide engineering design services of the Lorain Road Resurfacing project, and further authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with a firm selected in the RFQ process, and declaring an emergency. Director Upton explained to Council that because of the new ODOT rule, the rule that requires an additional design engineer on specific projects, like the one now needed for Lorain Road Corridor project, they also are requiring us to have a project ID number, and because the Lorain Road project did not have a Project ID number specifically spelled out in the RFQ, ODOT is now requiring us to create a separate RFQ for this project with a project ID number. This Resolution will help us keep everything current with the new rule that was enacted in March of this year. The motion passed 3-0, and that concludes my report, Mr. President, thank you.
