Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Councilwoman Gilchrist, Chairwoman of the Streets and Transportation Committee,
do you have a report this evening?
Streets and Transportation Committee
Councilwoman Gilchrist:
Yes Mr. President. I do have a report. The Streets and Transportation Committee meeting met
on December 10, 2024 at 7:20 p.m. Present were Committee Members Gilchrist and Glassburn,
Council Members Hemann, Limpert Madden and Scarl. The Mayor, the Law Director, the
Finance Director, the HR director, the Economic Director, the Safety Director, the Service
Director, the Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor and Guests.
• The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Ordinance 2024-121, an emergency
Ordinance enacted by the City of North Olmsted, Cuyahoga County, Ohio hereinafter
referred to as the Municipality, in the matter of the hereinafter described improvement
and requests the cooperation of the County of Cuyahoga, Ohio, hereinafter referred to
as the County, and declaring an emergency. Director Upton explained that the terms
and conditions of this project is set by the County. The Ordinance will allow us to enter
into an agreement to do a 50/50 split of a road re -pavement project of Dover Center
road, from Butternut Ridge Road to Mill Road. The County had leftover funds available
for a project of this size, and reached out to us. The project will be a mill and fill
resurfacing. The County will pick up the construction costs up to $250,000, and then City
of North Olmsted will be responsible for the other half of up to $250,000. This
Ordinance is only for the agreement portion of the project. This was recommended to
Council, and the motion passed by a vote of 2-0. The Streets and Transportation
meeting ended at 7:26 p.m., and that concludes my report.
However, Mr. President, I would like a moment of personal privilege. First to offer my sincere
condolences to your entire family of your loss, and then to Councilman Glassburn, I would like
to tell him that I do not like to say goodbye, but instead, I will say until we meet again, and I
wish you nothing but the best. Thank you, Mr. President.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Councilman Glassburn.
Councilman Glassburn:
Thank you, Mr. President. In my youthful exuberance, I omitted to properly amend the budget
to reflect the change to the Healthy and Safe Homes program into the budget. So at this time, I
would move to amend 2024-114 and ask for a second.
Councilman Limpert:
Second.
12-17-24 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 6
