Control Act of 1986, as amended. <br />C) Employment Discrimination. During the performance of the Contract, the Contractor <br />agrees to the following: <br />I) The Contractor shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant to)- <br />employment <br />oremployment because of mce, religion, color, sex, age, handicap, national origin, <br />military status or any other legally protected characteristic. The Contractor agrees <br />to post in conspicuous places, visible to employees and applicants for employment, <br />notices setting forth the provisions ofthis nondiscrimination clause. <br />2) The Contractor, in all solicitations or advertisements for employees placed by or <br />on behalf of the Contractor, shall slate that Contractor is an Equal Opportunity <br />Employer. <br />3) Notices, advertisements, and solicitations placed in accordance with federal law, <br />rule, or regulation shall be deemed sufficient for the purpose of meeting the <br />requirements of this section. <br />C) pair Labor Standards Act. 'I'he Contmetorand any subcontractorshall pay all employees <br />providing transportation services under this Contract in accordance wish the Pair Labor <br />Standards Act, as amended. <br />DRIVER SELECTION& TRAINING <br />A) Driver Selection. The Contractor shall establish a formal selection process that shall <br />include: <br />1) Verification that the applicant has an appropriate, valid Ohio Slate drivers <br />license and points based on Ohio law not in excess of4 (four); <br />2) The Contractor shall be responsible for pre-employinent physicals and drug <br />screens, as well as medical certification as required; and <br />3) A criminal background check. The Contractor shall be responsible for <br />background checks at the date of hirc, and every 5 years thereafter. <br />B) Driver -mining. The Contractor shall provide an approved training and retraining <br />program, to mach driver proficiency and safety. The driver -training program kill <br />commence the tint year of employment and shall include but not be limited to the <br />following: <br />1) Defensive driving; <br />2) Use of all special equipmentassociated with the job, such as wleelchair lifts,lire <br />extinguishers and two-way communications devices; <br />3) Operating procedures, including fare collection, vehicle pre-operation checks, <br />use of forms, record keeping, global positioning systems and dispatch <br />procedures; <br />4) familiarization with the service area and passenger assistance techniques; and <br />5) Relevant policies and procedures contained in an Operator's Manual. <br />In addition, the driver training shall include at least: <br />a) Annual reviews of individual driver's responsibilities and perlbrmance; <br />Ill Semi-annual observations of the driver's on-the-job performance; and <br />c) Maintaining records for all drivers to verify that the training has been <br />received. <br />6) Drivers shall be retrained in Defensive Driving and passenger Sensitivity every <br />three (3) years. Individual training records shall be available for inspection by <br />SI'C and North Olmsted contract 2024 <br />
