Council President Brossard:
The appointments of Kyle Wapshott and Nicole Storey to the Recreation Commission is
approved by a vote of 7-0.
Councilman Marrie:
The Intra-Governmental Relations Committee concluded at 6:50 p.m., and this concludes my
report. Thank you.
COMMUNICATIONS
Council President Brossard:
Thank you, are there any letters or communications to come before Council at this time?
Council Clerk:
Yes. Mr. President, the Mayor, City Council, Economic Development Director, and the Law
Director received correspondence from Mr. Jim Burns, which includes additional comments
regarding the Mall Mixed -Use Mall Overlay not included in his first letter, a copy of which will
be attached to these minutes.
Council President Brossard:
All right. Thank you. We will now move into audience participation.
Thank you for attending tonight's Council meeting. Public comment offers the opportunity for
members of the public to share information and bring issues and concerns to the attention of
City Council members. It is not a debate, and public comment speakers should not expect a
back -and -forth exchange. Council members may ask clarifying questions of the speaker, of City
staff, or of fellow Council members. Those attending City Council meetings should show the
same respect to others that they wish to have shown to them. If there is anyone in the
audience who would like to address Council, please come to the podium, state and spell your
name and address for the clerk. If you live in a City other than North Olmsted, please state the
name of that City and proceed with your comments. You will have up to five minutes.
Ms. Cehelnik:
Anyway, hi. My name is Charlene Cehelnik. I live at 5846 MacKenzie Road, and I am here with
20 of my neighbors because we have some issues with the street, everybody racing up and
down the street, from whether they're from the car dealership and they're test-driving the cars,
whatever they're doing, and it's been going on for years, and we've had a problem. I don't even
know, but the police officer used to sit in my neighbor's driveway. I think his name was Mike,
and he was there for years, and Mike retired. We never had a problem, but then after Mike
retired, we got some problems. So we got people just zooming up and down the street.
Nobody gives a darn about anybody anymore. My neighbors have tons of stories, and only
because I have talked to them, have I learned and heard about their stories, about people
throwing bottles at their car, as they're trying to turn in the driveway because they were going
too slow down the street. Somebody else runs the neighbor into the ditch because they were in
a hurry. And then we have two Mercedes. I have a neighbor who was going to get his mail, and
two Mercedes, two white Mercedes from the Mercedes dealership, are literally racing each
05-07-25 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 10
