other down the street going south on MacKenzie. One in one lane, one in the other lane. Both
of them going south. Okay, that was... and these are stories from my neighbor. And like I said, I
don't know a whole lot of their stories until I talk to them. You can talk to them, and they can
tell you what's been going on here and there, and, you know, we've got the cars backfiring. You
know, all the young punks with their... not all the young punks, but some of them with their
cars backfiring. I don't want to include everybody. You know, their cars backfiring and stuff.
And, you know, needless to say, it's, like, really annoying. We've been here 30, 40, 50, 77 years.
You know, and like I said, when Mike was here, we had no problem. And I talked to Jen Scofield,
and she did say, well, we can get an officer to you, and I said, okay, fine, they can sit in the
driveway. But almost every neighbor said, they can sit in my driveway, they can sit in my
driveway, he can sit here. Well, that lasted for about three weeks, which was nice. Okay,
I'm ... thank you very much for that, Jen. But, you know, that lasted for three weeks, and, of
course, the people don't see the cops sitting there anymore, so it's like, well, okay, I can do
whatever the heck I want. So basically, that's where we're at. I don't know if I have four minutes
and 59 seconds left, or if somebody else wants to say what's going on with them or whatever,
but it's basically the speed and no regard for anybody... I mean, you pull out of the driveway,
you look down the street, there's not a car in sight. Next thing you know, they're right on your
rear end. Right? I mean, they're flying down the street, and so...
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. [speaking to audience] We don't talk from that way; we only speak at the podium.
Could you please spell your name for the record?
Ms. Cehelnik:
Yeah, C-E-H-E-L-N-I-K.
Council President Brossard:
All right, thank you.
Ms. Cehelnik:
Okay? It's just a matter of time before somebody's going to get killed. You know, and we've
gone... How many times have we heard this over the years? We'll put the stop sign up now,
now that little Sally got killed, now we'll put the speed sign up, and the car's going through
people's living room windows, what, two or three times in Lorain, Elyria, whatever that was, the
same house. So we just don't want that happening on our street. You know, and we're just...
great people here, lovely people, and everybody's so kind. There's not one person sitting here
that would be an idiot. They all would listen to everybody, and everybody would listen to their
stories, and everybody wants to help everybody out. This is how we roll. So thanks.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you.
Mayor Jones:
Mr. President?
