SECTION 1150.03 DEFINITIONS. <br />A. The following definitions are applicable to this Chapter, in addition to definitions elsewhere <br />in the Zoning Code. <br />1. Active Use. Non-residential uses such as retail establishments, restaurants, personal <br />service establishments, or health and recreation facilities that create or facilitate <br />pedestrian use during standard business hours or at peak evening hours. <br />2. Adult Group Home. A facility providing accommodations and personal care services <br />for six (6) to sixteen (16) unrelated adults (typically elderly). Such services may include <br />assistance with daily living activities, self -administration of medicine, and preparation <br />of special diets. <br />3. Adult Family Home. A facility providing accommodations and personal care services <br />for three (3) to five (5) unrelated adults (typically elderly). Such services may include <br />assistance with daily living activities, self -administration of medicine, and preparation <br />of special diets. <br />4. Backlit Sign. In the MAMU Overlay District a backlit sign is one that uses a light source <br />to illuminate the wall or mounting surface behind the letters or sign elements to <br />create a 'halo' effect. Letters and sign elements being backlit shall be opaque. <br />5. Blank Wall. A ground -floor wall or portion of a ground -floor wall over that does not <br />include a transparent window or door. <br />6. Boundary Street. The public roads bounding the area included within the MAMU <br />Overlay District. This includes Great Northern Boulevard, Country Club Boulevard, <br />Lorain Road, and Brookpark Road. Boundary Streets shall also be considered Primary <br />Streets. <br />7. Cabinet Sign. A sign using a single translucent or partially translucent plastic, acrylic, <br />or other type of panel with text or symbols printed or placed upon it that is mounted <br />in a cabinet or box that may house a lighting source and equipment used to shine <br />light through the sign panel to illuminate it. <br />8. Cigar Bar. A business with a permit to sell alcoholic beverages that generates twenty- <br />five (25%) percent or more of its yearly gross revenue from the sale of cigars and/or <br />rental of humidor space, has a humidor on the premises, and does not allow minors <br />to enter the premises. <br />9. Co -working Facility Office space designed to be shared amongst workers, including <br />entrepreneurs, free-lancers, start-up businesses, and traditional office workers, <br />typically through a membership or for a fee. This includes providing multiple office <br />and meeting spaces as well as technology and equipment to facilitate standard office <br />work. Ancillary uses such as kitchens, and recreation and exercise spaces may be <br />included but are subordinate to the office space. <br />NORTH OLMSTED MALL AREA MIXED USE OVERLAY DISTRICT <br />
