Councilman Scarl: The Finance Committee concluded at 7:10 p.m. and that concludes my report. Thank you. Council President Brossard: Thank you and Councilman Scarl, as Vice Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee, do you have a report this evening? Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee Councilman Scarl: Yes, I do, as the Vice Chair. The Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee met on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 7:20 p.m. Present were Committee members Gilchrist, Scarl, and Shymske; Council President Brossard; Council members Limpert, Carr, Marrie, and Madden; the Mayor; the Directors of Service, Recreation, Economic Development, Law, and Finance; and guests. • The purpose of today's meeting is to discuss Resolution 2026-34, CDBG Grant Senior Center, a Resolution authorizing the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement to make application on behalf of the City of North Olmstead for a Community Development Block Grant, (CDBG), funds for the North Olmsted Senior Center and Community Cabin ADA Entrance Improvement Project and declaring an emergency. Director Pinchek explained this is a special municipal fund grant and, if awarded, would give the City the opportunity to replace the exterior entrance doors at the community cabin. The project would include removal of the current entrance, moving the entrance next to the senior center entrance, and replacing the current entrance with glass windows to match other areas of the building. The interior entrance area would be removed, giving the current community cabin more space. Total cost of the project is approximately $63,000, while the available grant is for $167,000. If awarded, the project would not affect this year's budget, but would be added to next year's budget. Total project time would be two to three months and would be completed by June 30, 2027. The community cabin may have to temporarily close during that construction. Resolution 2026-34 was recommended to Council by a vote of 3-0, and that concludes the report. Thank you.
