their city, and it was also going to be taken maybe from Middleburg Heights, Berea, the Falls, and
<br />then they voted it down. Over the years, they've had many times to vote on it, become
<br />incorporated or become part of another city and stuff, and every time it hasn't passed, they
<br />decided to stay a township. I do believe at some point in the near future that they will become
<br />either a city. I think they'll become a city of their own, myself, or other cities will probably buy
<br />them off. But I think that with this JEDD, what's important is we hold the key card. Because they
<br />are not a city and they want the tax money, they have to get it from us, and it kind of irked me
<br />that their lawyer presented to you guys a 25/75 split, and I'm glad that you're trying to do
<br />something with that. But it also irked me that their lawyer, I don't think it was by hidden case, he
<br />tried to hide the taxation or the annexation in there for the whole city and not just that JEDD. I
<br />was watching the first meeting; I think it was Mr. Limpert who brought it up; our lawyer, not you,
<br />Mr. Gareau, the other lawyer that was handling for the, that we hired for the JEDD, he never
<br />pointed it out, and he never pointed out that they wanted to stop the annexation for the whole
<br />city. That kind of irked me, and that guy honestly irked me anyways, our own lawyer that we
<br />hired for that, when he was asked to show up for another meeting, he flat out came and said,
<br />you don't want me to show up, you can't afford me or something to that attitude, and I'm like,
<br />oh, you have F. Lee Bailey, go home. We don't need you, okay, to saying that you can't afford,
<br />you know, you don't want to have to pay me. That just went right over my, oh, my God. Now I
<br />lost my train of thought. Oh, so one thing I have to, I would like to say is I would like to see maybe
<br />a 60-40 split with us getting 60 or them 40. If we do a 50-50, why don't we ask them to at least
<br />cover our cost as far as any risk that we have or reimburse us for our risk for our first year, okay?
<br />They have nothing to lose. We have nothing to lose. They have everything to gain, okay? Let them
<br />cover our risk. Why not, okay? I think you guys did address the no annexation, and everything
<br />else I think was addressed, but I just think that we really need to come down and let it be known,
<br />you know, they need us more than we need them, so they came to us with a 25-75, and are we
<br />going to counter with a 50-50? Eh, I wouldn't do that. I'd go 60-40 and cover our cost. Let them
<br />go back and forth, you know. It's kind of like trying to deal with Iran, trying to see who's going to
<br />free the ship over there. But over the years, look at what we've seen. We've seen a lot of
<br />annexation happen just in our lifetime, okay? I've seen Fairview Park take Parkview. Olmsted Falls
<br />took Westview. That's just in my lifetime, okay? And I honestly believe that Olmsted Township,
<br />as much as I love the city, as much as I love the people and everything there, Lou I know you're
<br />from there, and I love you too, but I think that we've got to look out for our city. We're number
<br />one. That's it. Thank you.
