Councilman Limpert:
Mr. President, this concludes my report, but if I could a quick moment of personal privilege?
President Pro Tempore Scarl:
Absolutely.
Councilman Limpert:
I know the Mayor mentioned about the Memorial Day ceremony, but I just wanted to really
commend the Service Department, and those in the Rec Department to get the Memorial site
ready, given the construction, and everything like that. I drove by numerous times the last few
weeks, wondering how is this going work? Where are they going to have it? And they really did
a great job pulling together what turned out to be a really, really seamless event from previous
years. So just kudos... it's great to see that we have employees that are willing to take that
added effort, and to you know, make sure that something like that turns out to be a really
quality event given some challenging circumstances. I just wanted to commend them, and
looking forward to the whole park being open. I drove by today and there's baseball games
starting and things like that, so it's really shaping up, and I think we should all be pretty pleased
I know there's always going to be challenges and things that come up as part of these plans, but
it's going be an exciting summer, so thank you, Mr. President.
Finance Committee
Councilman Scarl:
Thank you. Next, I will provide the Finance Committee report. The Finance Committee Meeting
met on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 7:23 p.m. Present were Council President Brossard,
Committee Members Scarl, Limpert and Marrie. Council Members Carr, Gilchrist, Shymske and
Madden. The Mayor, the Directors of Law, Finance, HR, Service and guests.
• First item for discussion was Ordinance 2026-40. The Transfer Ordinance. The
recommended amendments primarily addressed additional funding for the Wastewater
Treatment Plant EQ Basin project due to unforeseen soil removal costs, and increased
seasonal staffing needs, along with adjustments related to the Rocky River Municipal
Court expenses. The Ordinance was recommended to Council by a vote of 3-0.
At this time I move to amend Ordinance 2026-40 as just reported, and asked for a second.
Councilman Limpert:
Second.
President Pro Tempore Scarl:
Motion to amend Ordinance 2026-40 made by Councilman Scarl, seconded by Councilman
Limpert. Roll call, please.
